Who are all eligible to apply under SPARK?

Students who have formally enrolled for higher degrees like ME/M.Tech,M.Sc, MCA, BE/B.Tech, etc. in Universities/Academic Institutions in India and would like to do their major thesis work at CSIR 4PI are eligible to apply.

I am interested to join SPARK. How do I submit my application?

Please submit your application online at www.csir4pi.in/spark. Please read the guidelines, brochure and this FAQ before you start filling the application.

Do I need to send an hard copy of my application to SPARK through post?

No, the application process is online. All students need to apply online through the spark page. Further, we will not process any postal application.

I have completed my studies and currently I am not a student. Can I still apply ?

No, SPARK is an exclusive programme for Students.

Is there any dead-line to submit application?

No. The application process is open throughout the year. However, please make sure that you submit your application well in advance (at least six weeks prior to the commencement of your Project/Thesis work). This is the minimum time required to process your application and make a decision.

How do I know the status on my application?

CSIR CSIR 4PI makes the selection decision in the first week of every month in which decision on all applications received in the previous month will be made. If you are selected, you will receive the invitation letter through e-mail before 15th of the month.

Can I know the status of my application in between?

Unfortunately No. We receive a large number of applications every month and these applications will go through different stages of selection process. Hence, it is not practical for us to respond to your intermediate queries.

Do I get any stipend or financial assistance/Accommodation from CSIR CSIR 4PI?

Currently, CSIR CSIR 4PI is not in a position to offer any stipend or provide accommodation to students under SPARK scheme.

Do I need to submit my original documents to CSIR 4PI?

No, CSIR 4PI does not keep any of your original documents in office. You are requested to bring the original documents on the day of your joining for verification. They will be returned to you after verification.

What are the documents I need to bring on the day of my joining?

a) Originals of all mark cards and certificates starting from 10th onwards
b) One xerox copy of all the originals
c) Two copies of passport size photographs, and
d) A certificate in the prescribed format (available for download) signed by the candidate, the internal guide from the University/Institute and the head of the department.


Can I have some guidelines from you on finding a student accommodation near to CSIR CSIR 4PI ?

There are large no of affordable paying guest accommodation available surrounding to CSIR CSIR 4PI. Nearby areas to search for accommodation are Kodihalli, Murugeshpalya, Jeevan Bhima Nagar, Domlur, Thippasandra, Yemlur, Marthahalli, HAL, Indra Nagar. Lots of postings paying guest accommodations appear on the Internet.
