The AcSIR Science Club at CSIR–Fourth Paradigm Institute (CSIR-4PI), in association with the Internal Committee (IC), organised an Awareness Workshop on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace at 3.00 p.m. on Monday, 15 December 2025, at the Dr. K. S. Yajnik Conference Hall, CSIR-4PI, Bengaluru. The programme was coordinated by Prof. Sajani Surendran, AcSIR Coordinator at CSIR-4PI and IC Chairperson.

The programme commenced with an invocation and lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address by Ms. Apoorva Jangir, PhD student and President, AcSIR Science Club. The key session of the workshop was delivered by the Chief Guest, Dr. Rama Iyer, Advocate and Managing Partner, Ayana Legal, who spoke on the topic “Courts on Sexual Harassment at Workplace: What the cases tell us.” Her talk provided valuable insights into legal perspectives, landmark court cases, and the importance of awareness and compliance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act.

An interactive session followed, during which participants actively engaged with the speaker on practical and legal aspects related to workplace conduct and redressal mechanisms. The workshop also featured the Presidential Address by Prof. Gopal Krishna Patra, Director, CSIR-4PI, who emphasised the institute’s commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful work environment.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Smt. Nirmala Bai S. P., Hindi Officer, CSIR-4PI, followed by the National Anthem. The workshop was well attended and contributed significantly to enhancing awareness and sensitisation on issues related to workplace sexual harassment.
