Dr. Yajnik was the founder and head of CSIR Centre for Mathematical Modelling and Computer Simulation (C-MMACS). With his poineering vision, commitment and untiring efforts he laid the foundations of a world-class modelling institute. His scientific interests include Fluid Mechanics, especially turbulence and dynamical systems. He is a member of the Indian Academy of Sciences and is currently a Honorary Fellow of C-MMACS.
